Now, I want to say upfront, that this story is most decidedly NOT about our current King, Charles. I (Atreya) am a fierce loyalist (as my small collection of Royal Kevin the Carrots can verify) and won’t have a bad word said about the current royal family (with the exception of Harry and and that awful woman, but let’s not go there).
This story is about a king from the past. A king who many labelled as a true romantic, having abdicated in order to spend the rest of his life with his true love, an American divorcee named Wallace Simpson.
This story tells of love and power. Greed and jealousy. And ultimately…murder…
